Domestic
Shipments
Taxes
AES does not charge sales tax for destinations outside of California. For shipments within California we will charge the current state
rate.
UPS vs US Postal Service
If there are any problems with the shipment, such
as: late delivery; delivery confirmation, damages, etc... UPS will
resolve the problem faster than the US Postal Service. This means
you will either get a replacement or a refund much quicker.
Alaska, Hawaii,
APO, FPO and US Territories
Since UPS offers only their most expensive services to these
destinations you can save money by selecting US Postal
Priority or Express for your delivery.
Canada
Shipments
AES
does not charge any import taxes or fees
when shipping to customers in Canada.
However,
UPS and the Canadian government do
charge the following and EXPECT payment at time of delivery:
-
UPS
Brokerage Fees
Call UPS at 800-461-9999 or visit http://www.ups.com/tradeability
-
GST
of 7% added to total on invoice
-
Provincial
Tax will be added when the shipment is to a residential
address. Shipments to
businesses are not subject to the Provincial Tax (I have
heard that some businesses have been charged this tax).
How
do you eliminate Brokerage Fees?
- Ship
via UPS Express or Expedited.
UPS includes the brokerage fees in the cost of shipping.
- Ship
via US Postal Service. Sometimes,
not always, but sometimes, the mail gets through customs without
brokerage fees.
International
Shipments

- Wrong address
- Address cannot
be located
- Customs (international

- Disasters
- Lost by shipper
- No one available
to receive the package
When
UPS loses a package:
- We will initiate
a TRACER which typically takes 7 days to complete.
- We will determine
how to proceed on a case by case basis
When
USPS loses a pacakge:
We will consider
the package lost and will determine how to proceed on a case by
case basis
