$1000 Scholarship

"Building a Learning Culture Technician Scholarship

The educational scholarship program is aimed at helping to develop quality technicians, managers and shop owners. The scholarship will be applied toward the recipients’ expenses to attend the 2008 Congress of Automotive Repair and Service (CARS) in Las Vegas, Nov. 5-8. CARS is sponsored by ASA and offers an educational lineup of AMI seminars, technical training courses and industry sessions, a trade show with the latest products and services, and the opportunity to network with other automotive professionals.

To be eligible for the award, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • First-time CARS attendee and a minimum of 21 years of age
  • Minimum of two years work experience in the mechanical repair industry
  • Demonstrated interest in self-improvement through education and training
  • If the applicant is not the business owner, must be recommended by the owner
AMI trustees and their employees, and AES and its employees, are not eligible to apply.

To request a scholarship application, call AMI at (800) 272-7467, ext. 241, or complete the scholarship application online at www.amionline.org. Applications must be received by AMI on or before Aug. 15, 2008. The scholarship recipient will be notified by AMI on or before Sept. 15, 2008.

The Pathway to Learning poster and CD is the first in the Building a Learning Culture poster series

The Learning Pathway CD includes a PowerPoint presentation and all of the presentation assets. The presentation includes audio explaining each of the 6 key steps and a concluding video.

As an educator, you can choose to use the audio/video portions of the presentation as is or modify it to suit your style and needs. You can also access the presentation images from within PowerPoint 2003 (or better).
