What's the advantage of having a multi-channel scope?

GM Code 42. The GM procedure to diagnose a code 42 problem can be time consuming and difficult. By being able to display all 3 relevant signals together (RPM DREF, EST control, and ECM bypass signal) you can immediately pinpoint if the failure is caused by the ignition module or ECM. And, being able to record while driving, you can catch any intermittent problems.

You can accomplish this with a multi-channel scope such as the Interro PDA 2050.  A 4-channel scope that also offers a 6-pane multimeter display. More about the Interro PDA 2050...

Are your test leads too short?

Are your test leads long enough?  PC-based scopes, such as Pico, have leads that over 6-ft long so they can reach from the workstation to the vehicle.  Most handheld scopes come with leads that are anywhere from 3-ft to 6-ft long.  Sometimes these are long enough but sometimes they are not.

AES manufactures a variety of 6-ft extension test leads that will connect to your OEM leads and practically any aftermarket leads.  With AES extensions you get the length you need when you need it.

AES# 03-78-bp-color
For scopes that use banana plug inputs, such as, Vantage, Perception, ET-2020

AES# 03-78-bnc
For scopes that use BNC inputs (push on and twist), such as, Interro PDA, Matco Insight, OTC Vision, OTC Genisys, Fluke.

If you have extreme needs for longer extension leads we can build custom leads at practically any length you need.  Call us at 559-292-7851 or email to let us know the following:
1. What scope you are connecting to?
2. How long do you want the extension lead?
With this info we will be able to give you a quote and an ETA.

PWR Training presents new seminar:
Top 10 OBDII Codes

How did PWR Training determine the Top 10 Codes?
PWR Training obtained information from approx 12 state emissions programs. We compiled their records and came up with the most popular failures they recorded.  We call these the Top 10 Codes.

Why did PWR Training create this class?
We reviewed the training courses of many state programs and concluded that their goal is to create technicians who know how to follow regulations, not necessarily fix cars.  This class was created to help technicians fix real cars for a profit.

What are the Top 10 Codes?
Knowing the codes is not enough, you need to know what to do when you encounter them, our class will do this for you.

How will this seminar help a technician on a daily basis?
If you have a car that comes in with a MIL light on you are likely to encounter one of these Top 10 Codes. Being prepared ahead of time helps the technician complete the job with confidence and knowledge.

How is the class structured?
Mark and John review the Top 10 Codes examining the most likely causes, the most likely dead-ends and the most forgetful aspects associated with each code.  We then run each code through our Diagnostic Strategy known as the 5-R's.

When is the class being offered?
Mar 3rd 4th Forest Park, OH
Mar 10th 11th Indianapolis IN
