Article: Using a Gas Analyzer

If you don't live in an area with a state sponsored tailpipe emissions program then you probably don't feel you have a need for a gas analyzer.  Bob Pattengale of PWR Training believes that five gas analyzers can improve your diagnostic success and efficiency regardless of your state's testing requirements.

Selecting your AutoEnginuity scan tool

Add info regarding Update improvements...

First, Choose your platform: PC or Pocket PC or Palm
They all have the same capabilities for the same price $249.00 for Generic OBD2 and CAN coverage.

Second, do you want more than Generic coverage?
Add manufacturer specific PIDS and active commands to the platform you chose above:
-- Ford -- GM: -- Toyota -- Chrysler -- Mazda
Everything listed above is available in one package:
-- For PC: AES# AE-sp01
-- For Palm or Pocket PC: AES# AE-sp02-xx (Not listed on site) (Does not
include Chrysler/Mazda)

Third, which PDA platform should you get?
Get both. When you purchase the Palm or Pocket PC version you can add it to your PC for only $60.00 more. For example, if you buy the Palm version for $249.00 you can add the PC version for only $60.00. Click here

Fourth, do you want wireless (Bluetooth) option?
AutoEnginuity will work with Bluetooth enabled PDA's but you must add this
option to your AutoEnginuity tool. Click here

NOTE: Bluetooth slows down the speed of the scan tool. We do not recommend it when using the enhanced software.

NOTE: There is no wireless option for the PC platform.

Fifth, keep up to date.
Updates for the Generic CAN/OBD2 coverage are for free.  Updates for the manufacturer specific coverage are free for the first year after your purchase and $50.00 afterwards. Updates are listed on this page: http://www.aeswave.com/support/ae
