New: HV Glove Kit

Safety First! when working on Hybrids.
Rubber gloves rated to 1000v minimum will protect you from the the high voltage found on hybrid vehicles.  However, you must also protect the gloves from damage.  That is why this HV Glove Kit also includes a set of leather protectors and a storage bag.

Hybrid Tip: When to wear protection

Before disconnecting hybrid system or orange cables you should do the following:

1. Remove ignition key / disable smart key (Toyota Prius).
2. Use rubber gloves rated to 1000v minimum.
3. Depending on your vehicle:
A) Honda – Turn HV safety switch to off *
B) Toyota/Lexus – Remove HV service plug (orange)*
C) Ford/Mercury – Remove Service Switch (orange) and install in Shipping Position.*
4. Disconnect 12 volt battery (optional but recommended)
5. Test any source for high voltage. Use a CATIII DVOM rated for 1000v Min.*
6. Proceed if voltage is 12.6 volts or less.

* Wear rubber gloves at this time!
