If own or plan to own a shop then you must read this book!
Learn how Phil (the shop slave) works his way from desperation "...I feel like chucking the whole business..." to successful shop owner "...I feel I could manage any business and do well at it..." over the course of four years.
This is an inspirational story about the creation of a $1,000,000 automotive repair facility named Phil's Auto Clinic.
It is also the story of Phil Fournier and how he used his repair business as the vehicle to help make his dreams and goals come true in both his professional and personal life.
Making the Vehicle to Reach Your Dreams: Growing a great Business, Making a great life.
Phil became co-owner, along with his father and brother, of an automotive repair shop in Hemet, CA. "At last we are the master's of our own ship!"
After four years of moderate profits Phil realized he was "exhausted and ready to jump ship...my stress level rose to near-complete burnout." He had become a slave to his business: lots of hours and lots of frustrations.
Rather than jumping ship Phil found help in the form of Ken Stark, a business and life strategist, and together they defined Phil's goals and Phil's frustrations. This list formed the basis of their Business Development Program. This multi-year project lead to vast improvements in Phil's Auto Clinic enabling it to become the vehicle to help Phil's dreams and goals come true in both his professional and personal life.
In addition to Phil's story Ken Stark adds examples, articles, pointers and an outline to help you begin your Business Development Program. Phil also gives his opinions on current topics such as flat-rate pay, state-mandated programs, employee and customer relations, jobbers and competitors.
Phil and Ken show how the heart-and-soul of life management and the nuts-and-bolts of business management combine to create a win-win solution for you and your business.
