A basic 2-channel digital storage oscilloscope with good resolution for finely detailed waveform display.
Step 1
Press the Sensor List Button. Call up a list of known-good ignition and sensorwaveforms and then the ADL 7100 automatically sets itself up so you can compare your of live waveforms with the referenced signal.
Step 2
Use the softkeys to select the type of sensor you'd like to test.
All menus are only one level deep for fast, easy access.
Step 3
Press run to Catch a Wave! and view your live signal for comparison.
Sample rate of 5 megasamples per second on both channels, at all times, means those glitches will be hard to miss.
Step 4
Freeze your waveform and add it to your AES Wave! information database.
Shielded leads are a must for this scope, yet they are not packaged with the scope.
The scope's glitch capture cannot be turned off, so the scope is sampling the signal at a rate of at least 5 mega samples per second. At this rate, unshielded leads pick up a large amount of noise that can interfere with the waveform, especially on oxygen sensors.
All AES test leads are shielded to protect your signal from noise, and they are long enough (6-feet) to get you where you need to go.
