Will this measure AC current with my 88?

Yes, it will measure current and convert it to a voltage output that you can read with your meter.
You will not use the amps setting on the 88. You use the DC voltage setting. The amp clamp will out put either 10mV per amp or 100mV per amp depending on which setting it is on.
