Inspiring the Students of Automotive Technology
Jim Morton at Automotive Training Center in Warminster, PA, wanted his students to be inspired beyond the success of their lab and book work—he wanted them to Dream about their careers.
Originally, he asked his students to research and write about a vehicle component. But that project was just another 'task' in a long list of “tasks” that needed (with no enthusiasm) to be completed before graduation.
And then, he found the way.
Now, Morton asks his students to read through the trade publications and select an article that is full of advice. Then, put into their own words what they learned from that article and how it will benefit them in their careers. Inspiring! You bet!
