The meteoric rise of a ‘bush mechanic’ Taurai Raymond Sewera
First he was a kid foraging and polishing used parts for his brother. Then he became a reverse engineer and learned how the parts worked.
Soon afterwards, he was fixing transmitters, brakes, and engines. "Sometime in 2017 when he was binge-watching YouTube videos on automotive technologies, he bumped into a clip uploaded by Jim Morton..." Today, he is the only technician in Africa who is certified by the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) for light-duty diesel, medium- and heavy-duty trucks, and is an advanced level specialist (L1).
Meet Taurai Raymond Sewera (L1) from Zimbabwe, story by Debra Matabvu and published in the Zimbabwe Sunday Mail.
