The Tech400Pro & Tech500 TPMS Scan Tools with software 53 or newer can adjust the TPMS Placard Value.
When "plus sizing" on some vehicles, a change in recommended tire pressure is needed to maintain the original equipment load rating, this fact sheet shows you how to make the change and create a report.
On vehicles equipped with TPMS, a change in the Placard Pressure Value [the air pressure value by which the “low pressure” indication is determined] is needed to insure the system remains operational.
Example: 2014 Ford F-150 with 265/70-R18 OE would be 35psi placard. If Plus size to 305/35-R24 (Plus six) the new Placard Value would need to be 42psi.
