With the new COP ignition systems the ignition coils are connected directly to the spark plugs — eliminating the need for the spark plug wires. With no high–voltage spark wires, a COP probe is required to be able to pick up the secondary ignition waveform.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAlong with testing COP systems, the Coil-on-plug and signal probe can also be used to obtain a secondary ignition waveform on conventional ignition systems.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTo acquire a secondary signal with the Pico COP simply press the probe against the coil.
