The uScope! A single channel, pocket-sized, digital storage oscilloscope that's small, quick, and powerful.  This kit includes the most common accessories needed for labscope diagnostics.

When it's time for a diagnostic showdown and you're forced to draw your scope, you don't always have time to pull out the heavy artillery. As a wise old tool slinger once said, "You best keep something powerful close and ready".
How about right in your pocket?

The uScope: Small enough to fit in your pocket and powerful enough to capture the fastest signals, in less than 4 seconds it's booted up and ready to take aim on any signal.
The uScope is equipped with a 12-bit analog/digital converter, samples at 1 million/second and includes 10x peak detect oversample.

Pesky ignition in your crosshairs? Trigger the display to hit the spike every time! Upside down waveforms? give'em a quick invert. Not measuring up? Throw some cursors down. Injectors, O2 and even CAN signals are sitting ducks. Put the hammer down on current probes and transducers.

Do you have favorite targets? Setup a uScope default startup. You can be ignition or amp probe ready in seconds! Optional 10x probe for primary ignition and AC filter for ripple waveforms.
The uScope is the ultimate run and gun lab scope.

Secondary ignition, injectors, mass air flow, crank, cam, TPS, 02, CTS you name it it'll scope it. The uScope is also perfect for your low amp probe, secondary ignition pickup and pressure transducers.

Inverting, Freezing, and Measuring with the uScope

At time stamp 11:40, ScannerDanner uses the uScope to current ramp a coil on a 99 Honda Civic No Spark Diagnosis. He inverts the signal and adjusts time and trigger level to capture the signal.

At 16:20 he presses the "A" button (on the top right) to "HOLD" the display. He then changes time and amperage scales to zoom in and out of the signal and uses the cursors to get ΔT and ΔV (Amps).  This can be done on a live signal and while on "HOLD".

Later in the video, timestamp 24:20, he shows how to change the "Horizontal Position" of the signal to the left, by doing this he is able to see the position of the cursors on the waveform without the menu obstructing the view.

A "neat trick" with the uScope

ScannerDanner uses a "neat trick" of the uScope to capture a misfire event during a snap throttle test on a 2002 Ford Taurus with a P0301 code, Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected.

He sets the trigger type to SING so the uScope will Auto-Hold after the trigger level has been met.  This means the scope will not display a waveform until after trigger level has been met. And once trigger has been met the scope will display and freeze the waveform. In the video, ScannerDanner refers to it as a "Single Shot".

Comparing Open Plug Wires
ScannerDanner uses AES' Universal Secondary Test Lead Kit (the Paddle Probe) to compare an open plug wire to a known-good on a Dodge Caravan 3.8NOTE: The Paddle Probe used in the video has a BNC connector and Paul uses an adapter to connect it to the uScope. The Paddle Probe included with the uScope kit does not require an adapter.

Secondary and Relative Compression
ScannerDanner verifies a misfire with no trouble codes and no mode $06.
